OUR SOLUTIONS

We don't grow a crop. We build an industry.

Hemp's potential only becomes real when every link in the chain is connected. GIHS develops the full value chain — from seed to global market — and designs each project to deliver measurable environmental, economic, and social returns.

THE DEMAND-LED MODEL

We de-risk it — from the first farmer to the final investor.

Most agricultural ventures grow first and look for buyers later — which is exactly why so many fail. We work in reverse. Before a seed goes in the ground, we identify and secure the offtaker, so every crop is grown against confirmed demand.

It's the single most important way we de-risk the value chain for farmers and investors alike.

"We don't plant and hope. We plant against a buyer."

WE SECURE DEMAND

Existing offtakers

We identify and engage buyers who already need hemp inputs — confirming price and volume up front. In our Uganda project, we have a Letter of Intent (LOI) in place with an ethanol blending facility as an offtaker for hemp biomass.

WE BUILD DEMAND

New market channels

We also help cultivate new demand across energy, construction, and materials markets — working with industry partners so buyers are ready as supply comes online, rather than leaving the market to chance.

▸ GIHS enters at demand — and builds backward to the farm. Boon de-risks the supply side in parallel.

GIHS — Market & value-chain development

1

Secure & Build Demand

Lock in offtakers and cultivate new market channels before planting.

2

Seed & Inputs

Quality seed, subsidies, and training that get farmers planting against confirmed demand.

3

Cultivation

Regenerative farming that lifts yields, income, and soil health.

4

Processing

Local facilities that turn raw hemp into the materials the offtaker needs.

5

Delivery to Market

Fulfilling secured demand and building the trade relationships that scale it.

Women & Youth Empowerment

As hemp is processed, GIHS and Boon help local entrepreneurs turn byproducts — like hurd and dust — into small, community-owned businesses, so even the waste stream becomes income.

WHO WE DE-RISK IT FOR

When the chain is de-risked, everyone in it is protected.

The Growers

  • Rural farmers

  • Women

  • Young adults

Entering a new industry with secured demand, training, and seed support — not uncertainty.

The Communities

  • Local economies

  • Rural households

  • Future generations

Gaining sustainable income, energy, and ownership of the industry they help build.

The Capital & Partners

  • Investors

  • Development Finance Institutions (DFIs)

  • Off-takers & government partners

Backing a venture with demand, supply, and regulatory risk addressed before the first harvest.

~90%

of Uganda's energy still comes from biomass — overwhelmingly firewood and charcoal confirm & cite IEA

SPOTLIGHT : RENEWABLE ENERGY

That reliance on firewood and charcoal drives deforestation and harms the health of the women and families who cook over it. There is no sustainable feedstock at scale to replace it. Industrial hemp can be that feedstock.

Growing hemp biomass for clean energy and ethanol blending turns a national energy gap into a dual win: a sustainable energy source for the country, and a new, reliable income stream for the rural communities who grow it.

A sustainable feedstock Uganda doesn't yet have.

WHAT OUR SOLUTIONS DELIVER

Three kinds of returns, by design

Every GIHS project is built to advance all three at once — never one at the expense of another.

ENVIRONMENTAL

Restoring land & climate

Hemp regenerates depleted soil, sequesters carbon, and replaces deforestation- and fossil-based materials. Our projects treat climate impact as a built-in outcome, not an afterthought.

ECONOMIC

Building local industry

From farm income to processing jobs to exports, each value-chain link creates lasting, high-value economic activity — owned by the communities that build it, not extracted from them.

SOCIAL

ALIGNED WITH GLOBAL GOALS

Built around the UN Sustainable Development Goals

Our model maps directly to the development priorities investors, governments, and funders already measure against.

SDG 1 & 2

No poverty & zero hunger — income and nutrition at the household level.

SDG 5 & 8

Gender equality & decent work — women-first inclusion and dignified jobs.

SDG 11 & 12

Sustainable communities & responsible production — local, circular industry.

SDG 13 & 15

Climate action & life on land — carbon capture and soil restoration.

The model is ready to scale.

The groundwork is in place. See how to invest in the next phase of the value chain.
